Maccabees make an impression in third outing

After two less than impressive albums, the London indie rock quintet finally break through with their masterfully produced 'Given to the Wild'

THE MACCABEES/ GIVEN TO THE WILD

The name may not instantly ring a bell, but UK indie rock fivesome the Maccabees have been in the biz for more than half a decade, with two studio albums under their belts (Colour It In and Wall of Arms). Neither entirely obscure nor massively mainstream, they're one of those bands we knew existed, but still had a hard time naming their tunes. Having said that, a handful of decent jams did emerge from their last two releases, including First Love, Toothpaste Kisses, No Kind Words and Love You Better.
