Thai classical music evening

The Sangkeet Pirom programme by students from Mahidol University's College of Music offers a variety of traditional music modes, from subtle mahori to various types of vibrant pi pat percussion, as well as krueang sai prasom _ string music that embraces the dulcimer and organ.

A performance, scheduled to kick off tomorrow at 7pm at the college, will open with the playing of the sacred Tra Sannibat song, followed by immortal pieces including Ratree Pradab Dao, which was composed by King Rama VII; Saen Kamnueng, written by Thai classical music legend Luang Pradit Phairoh (Sorn Silpabanleng); and Cherd Jeen, a Chinese-accented piece from Phra Pradit Phairoh (Khru Mee Kaek).

Guest artists Naruepon Duriyapan and Somchai Tabporn will be on hand to charm the audience with their captivating voices.
