After the huge success of his previous nationwide tour last year, world-renowned classical guitarist Hucky Eichelmann is back for more.

The ‘Staedtler-Hucky Eichelmann Thailand Tour 2012’ will start in Nakhon Ratchasima on Aug 15 and conclude in Phatthalung on Sept 3.

The "Staedtler-Hucky Eichelmann Thailand Tour 2012" will journey through the Kingdom's major cities, with eight concerts scheduled from Aug 15 to Sept 3.

Held as part of the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of Germany-Thailand relations, the concerts will feature an exciting selected solo programme of music from Germany and Thailand. It will also introduce the new album Guitar Favourites _ Eichelmann's first (almost) exclusively Western music album which was released in mid-July.

As another highlight, Eichelmann will invite students from each city and university to perform with him on stage which will add some more interesting colour to the concerts. When Eichelmann arrived in Thailand 30 years ago classical guitar was not exactly popular: he says found three people playing it. Since then this versatile instrument has experienced a rise in popularity in Thailand and it is now being taught at every major university in the country.

Eichelmann has toured the Kingdom for more than 25 years as a solo artist and with various other artist friends and ensembles. Besides the concerts and workshops, he will also preside over the third Hucky Eichelmann-Mahasarakham University Award which has become the major guitar event for the Northeastern region of the country with a steady rise in performance standards by an ever-increasing number of young Thai guitar students from the Northeastern region of the country.

All shows start at 7pm. Call 02-662-1836 or visit www.huckyeichelmann.com.
