The Thailand Creative & Design Center (TCDC) is bringing back the annual "Creativities Unfold, Bangkok" symposium which gathers experts and influential thinkers, both local and international, to share perspectives that are beneficial to the development of creative and design industries in Thailand.

Held under the concept "Design is Opportunities: Innovation, Strategy, Business", the event is designed for both young and professional entrepreneurs who are looking to expand their business opportunities through the use of strategies provided by innovative designers who are insightful in both design and business.

"Creativities Unfold, Bangkok 2012" will take place from Aug 25 to Sept 10 with three main activities _ Creative Space Workshop from Aug 25 to Sept7, International Workshop on Sept 6, 7 and 10, and International Symposium on Sept 8 and 9.

Following last year's success, the Creative Space Workshop returns with 42 of Bangkok's leading design, creative organisations and businesses such as Propaganda, Greyhound, Eat & Site-Specific, Be Our Friend Studio, Phenomena, Chamni's Eye Studio, JWT, Smallroom and many more.

Taking place at venues including studios of the participating organisations, educational institutions and the TCDC's auditorium, each workshop will focus on introducing new ways of learning by hands-on experience through the use of creativity and design combined with business strategies.

The two-day workshop on Sept 6-7 features Adisorn Supawatanakul who will reveal how to create "user-centred ideation" while Idris Mootee will focus on "design thinking and business opportunities".

On Sept 10 Birgit Mager will instruct on "service design in action". After that Morinosuke Kawaguchi will explain the functions of subculture-inspired products.

Also at the TCDC's auditorium, the International Symposium will feature nine renowned local and international gurus from various professional fields who will share their business strategies and experience in using science to devise novel solutions _ from an effective strategy for improving an organisation in crisis and working a successful business model amid aggressive competition, to a sustainable product that endures over time.

Participants will also meet designers and managers who have transformed different sciences into creative innovations and new products, which gave opportunities to businesses as well as to improve quality of life at community and country levels.

Tickets for the International Symposium are priced at 900 baht per day (translation from English to Thai is available through headphones upon request) and 1,500 baht per activity for the International Workshop.

A deposit of 500 baht for students (1,000 baht for the general public) is required to secure a seat at the Creative Space Workshop. However, the full deposit will be refunded on the day of participation.
