Jim Thompson was an American businessman who was instrumental in reviving the silk industry in Thailand during the mid-20th century. Since that time, products with the trademark of Jim Thompson have spread around the world. Also, the business has grown from a simple Thai silk industry into museums, cultural centres, retail outlets, restaurants, etc. The Jim Thompson Art Centre is one of these facilities. Dedicated mainly to the promoting of Thai arts, crafts and culture.
