Is the X4 basically a sporty derivative of the X3?
Something like that, my friend. The X4 uses the same blueprint of the X3, but is distinguished with a sportier profile and a badge that allows BMW to charge customers slightly more.
This two-model idea is just what the X6 is to the X5 — higher up the class ranks. This should help BMW fend off new challenges from the all-new Porsche Macan and Range Rover Evoque, the latter being updated for this year.
