    I just worked out that the 320i will cost about 86 Baht extra in fuel for each 100 km. This allowing for gasohol 91 at about 37 baht and diesel at about 30 Baht per litre. At that rate it takes around 255,000 kilometres for the diesel version to be more cost effective. A long way.
    Doesn't include resale values of course which may be better for the diesel 320d...
