Nissan eyes another eco-car in Thailand

Nissan Motor, Japan's second-largest automaker, wants to produce its latest eco-car in Thailand after its initial eco-car, the Nissan March.

Once the new model's production starts, Nissan's output of eco-cars here will top 100,000 units this year, with an aim to export the new model back home, said an executive at Nissan's Thai unit.

She said about 2,000 units of the Nissan March ordered during last month's Bangkok International Motor Show were likely to face delays in delivery of up to two months, due partly to disruption of automotive parts sourced from Japan.
