UD trucks plans to return after legal battle ends

UD trucks will soon return to the Thai market after AB Volvo of Sweden and Tan Chong International end their legal proceedings here.

Formerly Nissan UD truck, the UD truck brand disappeared from the Thai market for almost two years.

Shortly after Nissan Diesel Thailand (NDT), a wholly owned subsidiary of Hong Kong-listed Tan Chong, filed a claim in a Thai court against AB Volvo claiming compensation for damages of HK$2.64 billion (10.6 billion baht) early last year, new UD trucks built in Thailand gradually vanished from the local market.
