Full speed ahead for Continental as AEC approaches

German auto-parts maker Continental AG has confirmed plans for a 5-billion-baht investment in Thailand despite last year's flooding, aiming to capitalise on an expected surge in intra-regional trade once the Asean Economic Community (AEC) emerges in 2015.
Chambers: Region is next big destination
For this year alone, 600 million baht has been allocated for capacity expansion at Continental's plant in Rayong's Amata City Industrial Estate, with an additional few hundred million to be spent in the following years.
