TS trains for March reopening and mulls relocation while industrial estate's dyke reconstruction loan faces rejection

While most factories struggling to recover from last year's floods are paying 75% of their employees' salaries in accordance with the Labour Protection Act (LPA), TS Tech (Thailand) Co, a seat-maker for Honda cars, is paying full salaries to its 1,500 staff despite receiving no new orders from its sole customer.

Seats for Honda cars, TS’s only client, sit idle on the factory floor as the company trains workers for a planned March restart.

"Our main goal is to support our workers and their families [so they can stay with us]. On Monday 100% of our workers came to work, and we are training them to prepare for when production resumes," said TS Tech president Yasunori Sakurai.
