The Diavel (pronounced dee-ah-vel) made its first public appearance at the EICMA International Motorcycle Show in Milan, Italy, in 2010. Back in Bologna, northeast Italy where its maker Ducati is based, it has a reputation: "Igurant comm' al Diavel", meaning "evil like the devil", and it looks about as much, at least the Diavel ABS does, because it is all black.
Apart from the Diavel ABS costing 799,000 baht, two other variants are available in Thailand _ Diavel Carbon Red (928,000 baht) and Diavel AMG (1.658 million baht) _ the first two assembled here.
Life tested the imported version and Ducati Thailand was on hand to explain the features of Thai-built versions launched at the Bangkok motor show last April.
