Aiyanat Tinapai never dreamt that a country boy like himself would one day rule the expressways as governor of the Expressway Authority of Thailand (Exat).
As a matter of fact Aiyanat embodies the spirit of a modern day Horatio Alger, who embodied hard work and virtuous behaviour, having reached the pinnacle at Exat 29 years after missing out on the provincial state attorney exams because he was too young.
"It was written in the stars or destiny or whatever you want to call it. Being a country boy from the provinces without an overseas education, I never thought I would one day become Exat governor," Aiyanat said.
