The Commerce Ministry will pursue the unfair trade charge against AP Honda, the local distributor of Honda motorcycles, before the the statute of limitations ends in July 2013.
The Trade Competition Board (TCB) ruled the company violated Section 29 of the Trade Competition Act by indirectly forcing its agents to distribute only Honda motorcycles, in a case filed in 2003 by Thai Suzuki Motor, Thai Yamaha and Kawasaki.
Distributors said AP Honda, which had a 70% market share, regularly tried to block agents from selling other brands.
