Luxury Lexus brand looks to growth

Lexus, the Japanese premium marque, is upbeat about its prospects in Thailand in 2013, expecting 13.7% sales growth to 870 cars. 

Lexus will spend 100 million baht to expand its showrooms and service centres to upcountry, most likely in Phuket, Pattaya and Chiang Mai, where large groups of potential premium customers live, says Mr Kubo. PAWAT LAOPAISARNTAKSIN

The promising sales growth is attributed mainly to the relatively narrow price gap between Lexus vehicles imported through authorised dealers and independent importers or the grey market.
