Henkel AG & Co, the German industrial and consumer products company, is establishing a presence in Thailand's vehicle-repair market in a bid to become a well-known adhesive brand locally by 2016.
Already well regarded in the European aftermarket, Henkel's adhesive products have yet to gain a strong presence in Thailand, said Surachet Tanwongsval, who was named as president of Henkel (Thailand) in January.
"But now that some of our other products have strengthened satisfactorily, we'll start focusing more on adhesives for automotive customers, as Thailand's 24 million vehicles will all need repairs at some time. Adhesives can be used in many tasks such as underbody coating," he said.
