Vespiario (Thailand), the authorised importer and distributor of Italy's Vespa motorcycles, has felt the pinch of weakened domestic consumption, cutting its sales forecast for fiscal 2013 by 10% to 9,000 vehicles.

Ms Pornada joins other executives at the Vespa 946 launch on Friday. The limited edition is powered by a 125cc engine and priced at 499,000 baht including60% import tax.

Managing director Pornada Tejapaibul said purchasing power has become weaker than expected in light of the economic slowdown, leading the country's overall motorcycle sales of only 2 million vehicles this year from the previous forecast of 2.2 million and against 2.15 million last year.
