Look Who's Blocking You?
It's clear now that army chief Gen Prayuth Chan-ocha is standing in Yingluck Shinawatra's way.
His televised comments on Wednesday implicitly reminded voters of which party they should vote for on July 3. Gen Prayuth made clear his position, as several polls showed the Pheu Thai Party is coming strong this time and some Pheu Thai members even predicted a landslide victory. Gen Prayuth hoped that his appearance on TV could at least slow down Pheu Thai's political momentum. This time he probably put his position on the line. Gen Prayuth might have to go if Pheu Thai controls Government House, given his role in dispersing the red shirt protesters last May. Don't forget that Supreme Commander Gen Songkitti Jaggapatara will retire this year and the Supreme Command might be the place where Pheu Thai will send Gen Prayuth to. Gen Prayuth already did his part. The rest is up to voters and the Democrat Party to find its way to catch up with Pheu Thai. Don't expect the Democrat to overtake Pheu Thai on July 3. Coming close will be more than enough.
