More than 30 red-clad United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) demonstrators gathered in front of Government House on Wednesday morning to pressure Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva and Foreign Affairs Minister Kasit Piromya to resign.

Many protesters held signs and chanted against the coalition government led by the Democrat party. They said they will pressure the premier by following him anywhere he goes.

More red-shirt protesters were expected to join the rally in front of Government House later during the day.

Meanwhile, the government planned to enforce a regulation to prevent community radio stations from assembling people to demonstrate.

However, the UDD reiterated that no one assembled the demonstrators but they decided to stop working to protest against the government by themselves.

UDD core member Nattawut Saikua said the group could not stop anti-government protesters from different provinces from gathering. The only solution is to hold a general election once the government dissolves the parliament, he insisted.

The group also called on the media to report unbiased news.

To Sloth and wtf.

You are all both so right in your views on the political issues in Thailand of today. It is nice to see that we have such enlightened people in our growing PAD movement. Now I fully understand that we have spent our money wisely.

Come to think of it. Now that we have kicked this toxic Usurper (Yes that’s THAKSIN) out of office and reclaimed our birth given right to govern this country, now we really have the opportunity to stop this nonsense permanently and set up hinders for such an obscure situation to ever reoccur again. These ignorant, poor, northern excuses of non human low life must once and for all learn the basic fact that their opinions never again will bear any weight when it comes to governing this country.

Now that we can rightfully claim we gained power in a democratic fashion, we must learn from history and set up solid barriers that secures our future for the next one thousand years and secure us the position where we belong; in charge of the political power of this amazing nation. To obtain that goal we must make sure we can stay in control of courts, the army and the police as we have established the last couple of years. This is the very important lesson history taught us. Then we of course must make sure that the press continue to write the stories we want them to tell. Obviously we’re in good progress there already.

But of course the sad fact will still remain, that there will no matter how much we suppress the media, remain a few of these dreadful, poor, ignorant losers up north and in Isaan. Well history have given us a lesson there to; we can put up special camps to relocate an re-educate these people in what is truly in their best interests and sole true conception of life. Simple, but the final solution to the problem this nation now and ever after is going to face.

And as for this BLASTING AND IRRITATING DREY character that haunts us all like he inferior man he is; please remember DREY that it’s not only Saddam who have weapons of mass destruction. I guess gassing you will be the appropriate answer for you.

So thank you both, one more time wtf and Sloth for joining our fantastic PAD movement. Really hope you were satisfied with your payslip, don’t worry there’s a lot more coming now that we’re back in the control of government. You know what they say; if you’re not with us you’re against us and if so we must crush you literally like a useless bug.

Ronald - The police blew the limbs off of PAD protesters, "someone" was periodically bombing PAD protest sites, costing several lives, and the government's shameless proxy thugs, led by PPP MP's charged into PAD's lines on several occasions.

So its not as if the government didn't try to "come down" on the PAD - its simply that they knew it would expand the crisis. People hate the government. Pro-government is like saying, pro-boot licking. People hate Thaksin, they hate the Democrats, they hate all these rich, arrogant, parasites feeding off their work and trying to manipulate their lives.

If the government butchered PAD that would be the end of them - if they didn't well catch 22 I guess.

UDD is a different animal. They are pro-government, they are boot lickers, but they don't lick for free. The UDD will never hold out as long as PAD did - nor will they manage to seize any infrastructure without incurring the wrath of the Thai people.

See PAD got away with it - because silently the Thai people were behind them. UDD has themselves and themselves alone. Issan has numbers - but Thailand has many cultures - and Issan stands alone as a culture politically and even they are divided.

If the red shorts now occupied the two main airports, and prevented government from functioning, including shooting at opponents and kidnapping police (as did the PAD).....

Just watch how fast and how hard the military would come down!

Thailand is a top down political system, UDD in a stupor mimik their puppet pay masters thinking they can change things to a bottom up system. They threaten like they are the French revolution. If they have any tactics, they learned from PAD. Unless they can VETO the power structure, courts, military, and higher, all their efforts are in vain. Worse case scenario another coup. 18 coups now since 1932. Doomed to repeat? I believe in red shirt ideals in theory, but going about results all the wrong way. Sorry, just being pragmatic. A voted in democracy they cry out out STILL has no real power, in current THAI power structure. You still have to listen and obey current ruling class, win or loose, thus the recent court cases, etc.

If the government holds new elections here is likely what will happen. The UDD backed people will probably win because Taksin and friends will spend millions of baht to buy the election again. If that happens Sonti and friends will activate again and Thailand will be right back where it was a couple of months ago. I still say Taksin and Sonti on elephants with spears to the death and who wins is the next PM.

First off, UDD is a hollow personality cult created by Thaksin and his supporters. Its as clear as day, from the clowns acting ring master - to the corny Thaksin "phone ins."

Its one thing to fight for democracy - its another to be a simple shill for a deposed and convicted criminal.

If there was a third group that came out - that spoke out to the clear corruption on both sides - I'd join them. In the meantime I'm going to keep calling the UDD and the PAD what they really are - proxies for two opposing political machines - and hardly democratic.
