Army demands protest-free summit

Army chief Anupong Paojinda, referring to the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) protesters, called on people with different political views to stop obstructing the country from hosting the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) summit because the event is considered a national agenda.

According to Gen Anupong, the country would gain benefits, if it can properly host the summit.

Commenting on the plan to dissolve the Southern Border Province Administration Centre (SBPAC), he said he had discussed this with Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thuagsuban and they agreed that the centre will not be disbanded.

The army chief said the Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) Region 4 will continue to look after security in the deep South, but another large committee will be jointly responsible for this matter as well.

    To Sloth and wtf.

You are all both so right in your views on the political issues in Thailand of today. It is nice to see that we have such enlightened people in our growing PAD movement. Now I fully understand that we have spent our money wisely.

Come to think of it. Now that we have kicked this toxic Usurper (Yes that’s THAKSIN) out of office and reclaimed our birth given right to govern this country, now we really have the opportunity to stop this nonsense permanently and set up hinders for such an obscure situation to ever reoccur again. These ignorant, poor, northern excuses of non human low life must once and for all learn the basic fact that their opinions never again will bear any weight when it comes to governing this country.

Now that we can rightfully claim we gained power in a democratic fashion, we must learn from history and set up solid barriers that secures our future for the next one thousand years and secure us the position where we belong; in charge of the political power of this amazing nation. To obtain that goal we must make sure we can stay in control of courts, the army and the police as we have established the last couple of years. This is the very important lesson history taught us. Then we of course must make sure that the press continue to write the stories we want them to tell. Obviously we’re in good progress there already.

But of course the sad fact will still remain, that there will no matter how much we suppress the media, remain a few of these dreadful, poor, ignorant losers up north and in Isaan. Well history have given us a lesson there to; we can put up special camps to relocate an re-educate these people in what is truly in their best interests and sole true conception of life. Simple, but the final solution to the problem this nation now and ever after is going to face.

And for this BLASTING AND IRRITATING DREY; please remember that it not only Saddam who have weapons of mass destruction. I guess gassing you will be the appropriate answer for you.

So thank you both, one more time wtf and Sloth for joining our fantastic PAD movement. Really hope you were satisfied with your payslip, don’t worry there’s a lot more coming now that we’re back in the control of government. You know what they say; if you’re not with us you’re against us and if so we must crush you literally like an insect.

    Hi gent - Discussion 23 : 08/01/2009 at 09:39 AM

Thanks. You are absolutely right. Mr. Somchai should have fired anupong for subordination even if it meant that the military will stage another coup. It's indeed much easier fighting a direct military coup rather than the behind the scene or silent coup as the one we have currently.

To Levenfeld=WTF=Artit=John or whatever other alias you are using today. As far I know Goebbels will be your next one.

I see in some earlier post (#10) that you in your little conspiracy driven uneducated mind of yours, have big problems with the fact that most people in this world disagree with all your Nazi opinions on politics and of course every other useless opinion you create in your uneducated little brain. And that there are many of us who use our natural given right to express that disagreement on the internet, just as you unfortunately use your freedom of speech to express your gutter Nazi opinions, is obviously incomprehensible for you to understand.

Just for the record then. I don’t speak for the other nick’s you mentioned, I am not to be confused with Drey but I am absolutely True Democrat and I speak only on behalf of myself no matter what your shitty, Nazi brain think about that.

Now, now, now, Mr. Anupong has an opinion too, beside just saying the same old words "Dissolve the parliament" or "The government must resign"!

Mr. Anupong, if I was Mr. Somchai then I would fire you for subordination even if it meant that the military will stage another coup. To tell you the truth, it's much easier fighting a direct military coup rather than the behind the scene or silent coup as the one we have currently.

Please dont throw any insulting opinion every one.We are here to comment and lets not take or make anything personal. I strongly believe that Anupong did not want to have the army interfered in the airport case simply because he did not want the unpleasant incident at the Govt. House to repeat.Somchai's administration was different to Abhisit because i personally do not think that they had time for Asean or whatever since they were mainly concerned about change of Constitution as the main task. They were not serious about tackling ' trade & economic' problems at all. Surely we could notice the differences here?Dont we? Anyway, we should always give support and encouragement to the people who means well for the Country. Anupong does the right thing as he realises that unless people begin to 'behave and disciplined/be disciplined', things and situations may get out of control again, and we let 'history' repeats itself, which is bad for the Country which is already being driven to the brinks of 'economic' chaos.
The advice given for the Southern Peace Strategy is 'equally' important. I do not see the need to form a seperate 'civilian'Administrative Body for the South. The new Body would create 'redundancy and overlapping' functions. The Govt. should let just one Main Body to 'exist' with all aspects of duties incorporated into one, to administer the South.I simply mean, ONE BODY to oversee and administer all functions relating to Public Relations, Religion, Security and Economic Development which are being managed by civilians, religious leaders, economic Planners, administrators and Security Personnels. Preferrably, except for the seniors and top ranking Officers, the locals must be given the jobs as the locals are better 'recepted' by the Southerners.

It's time to lay a siege on Hua Hin. Hit where it hurts!! Anupong can retire and usher for PAD.

Sathorn - wow - The UDD is organized and led by Thaksin's right hand men. Thaksin makes regular call in's to his "flock" and they are all screaming for Thaksin to come back!

Its insane - whats more insane is that you expect anyone to believe the UDD is fighting for democracy and not a simple proxy fighting for Thaksin's political machine.

Throw Thaksin, Jakrapob, and Sam Moon in jail, strip them of their assets, and let's see what happens to the UDD.

Finally - remember, the Parliament put Abhisit into power - just like Samak and Somchai, many of Thaksin's own allies turned on them and backed Abhisit. So really, make a case. These Thaksin talking points are getting old.

The ASEAN summit definitely needs to be protested - I don't care who does it, PAD, UDD, whatever. ASEAN is a stepping stone for an Asian superstate like the EU - and I'm sure there isn't a Thai alive that wants to be merged with Laos, Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia, or Vietnam.

Seriously though ... if you have a legitimate grievance with Abhisit - please make your case. All I see is coarse language and childish insults - that makes me think that the UDD are nothing more than a personality cult funded and dedicated to Thaksin more than committed to any actual cause.

Is Anupong in a dead-cat-bounce stage?

I think so. Their whole gang is. They are in their last breath.

They are trying very hard to limit freedom and free flow of information; it will not work!

The greatest weapon red shirts have is the yearn for freedom and true democracy; not Thaksin, not money.
