The Phra Khanong District Court on Monday issued arrest warrants for owners of Santika Club, where 64 people died in a fire ignited by New Year's Eve fireworks display.

The Royal Thai Police deputy commissioner-general, Pol Gen Jongrak Jutanont, said investigative officers from Thong Lor Police Station asked the court to issue arrest warrants for Santika major shareholder Wisuk Setsawat and pub manager Suriya Ritrabue.

They were accused of allowing minors entering the nightclub and being reckless by causing other people's deaths.

More arrest warrants could be issued if police find more suspects involving in the Santika tragedy, Pol Gen Jongrak said.

The owners of Santika have been summoned to pay their bribes then they will returned to running more "fire traps"....the warrants for the arrests of the owners of Santika are essentially a negotiation tactic by which the police will use to determine the size of their bribe, as well as the bribes that the owners of Santika will pay at their new fire trap...truly sad, nothing will change..

It's a start but let's NOT forget that the people who died, ain't come back to life anymore.
All love and faith to the remaining family.

A good start? LOL - okay - we have 1000 crimes in this story and all that has come out of this is the same charges they made 2 days after this tragedy.

Where is the investigation into police bribery? Where is the investigation into the BMA's laxed enforcement of building permits, safety permits, operating permits, entertainment permits, you name it.

Nothing, absolutely nothing will come out of it. These charges are just scapegoat crap and by the time you get your next paycheck this will be put under the rug just like the other elite that got away with running over people with his car, or the guy I personally tried to bring ot justice for INTENTIONALLY hitting a motorcycle guy. Nothing will happen, not a damn thing.

I ran a higher chance of being prosecuted for slandering the police than of any of their crooks getting fired, much less prosecuted for taking bribes.

That's a good start. I hope they make an example of them...but what about the other villains in this piece?

Who signed the license? Who is responsible for policing the area? Surely it is very easy to see who signed what. Heads should roll in the administration too.

Punish the shooter certainly but don't forget the people who gave them the gun and the bullets. These people are the true evil in this tragedy and throughout the kingdom. While the owners of Santika - hopefully - rot in jail (though, let's be honest, how likely is that?) these grubbing, filthy scum move on to the next scam, the next gamble with people's lives that will get them that new designer suit or a few more Ionic columns on their gaudy mansion.

I genuinely hope they one day find themselves in in some 'restaurant' at one in the morning - celebrating yet another million baht in the bank - and someone lights a firework... That would be true justice.

But it will all blow over and people will go back to the jostling and fighting for the smallest chance of feeding at the foul trough. Thailand has a terminal disease that will never be cured as long as the doctors and nurses are the main cariers.

The only way to solve this is to make examples of the people at the top. Likely? About as likely as the PAD leaders being brought to justice for their acts of terrorism or Taksin - the king of corruption - ever serving a minute in jail.

Yes, good! Hope justice will be served. These people have no regard for the safety of their patrons. There is so much wrong with this whole area in Bkk - time for the authorities to clamp down.

Good.. they deserve it. Accidents - I can understand, but impressing people with fireworks indoors deserves the highest punishment possible, since they do not care about health and safety regulations.
This can only happen in Thailand.
