Ousted premier Thaksin Shinawatra and ex-premier Samak Sundaravej will not phone-in to speak to supporters of United Front of Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) when they join a mass rally on Saturday evening, UDD core leader Jatuporn Prompan said Saturday.

According to Mr Jatuporn, music will be played at Sanam Luang, where the red-shirt demonstrators will gather, at 3pm. An hour and a half later, UDD core leaders will get on stage to speak to the supporters, centring the criticism on the government.

At 9pm, the group will march to the Government House but will not enter the compound as the People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) supporters have done, he said.

He also told the government not to worry about the rally and not to pressure the police to take decisive measures against the red-shirt supporters, claiming that police on duty are on their side.

Thirty-five companies of the police would be deployed at the anti-government rally to ensure safety.

Well, what a shame and how childish! how could an ex-minister talk in such a way to the press?

"According to Mr Jatuporn, music will be played at Sanam Luang, where the red-shirt demonstrators will gather, at 3pm. An hour and a half later, UDD core leaders will get on stage to speak to the supporters, centring the criticism on the government.

Firstly, why compare UDD to PAD? sad to say, he doesn't realise that his leadership wanes compared to PAD's!!! Why does J want to "claim that the police on duty are on their side"? Is there a hint that these police on duty will allow/help them to get into the govt house compound? Has he any idea that what he said will shake his own country men's confidence of their own police? the foreigners will definitely react negatively towards his claims of the police being on their side!! what a shame he is to the country? come on, this is mockery of the highest order?
So, if the police on duty are on UDD side and they are persuaded at 9pm to assist the UDD into the compound, what's going to happen? they want these police to be sacked for it would mean that the police are failing in their duties in guarding the govt house? then when back-police help is called in and violence break out, what happens? who will be blamed? the back-up police? it is anyone's guess for the back-up police will be considered foes of UDD. isn't this a ploy to divide the police further and divide the country and country men further? such poisonous ploy. is this not DEMONCRAZY?
telling the "govt not to worry about the rally and not to pressure the police to take decisive measures against the UDD" is like telling the govt to turn a blind eye to everything. is there an underlying message here? that the protestors will be assisted? such a shame that it's coming from an ex-minister. just wondering if this is another division of the country. sounds like a revenge rally. such glaringly pitiful and naive statement which made my toes laugh.

Kuwanchai of Udon said his decision not to go to the rally was sanctioned by Thaksin, and there are no phone-in today, is this an indicaiton that red shirt movement will resort to violecne? Thaksin usually want to assosiation his name to every occasions red shirt guys do something. Is there any reason that he has to dissociate himself from today's event? the attendance seems to be why short of what the leaders expected, they may go for some disperate move to creat a violence in order to compensate the declined mass support? I hope they won't do that, it harms both the country and the movement, if they should have any serious motive for "real" domocracy
