Govt is not a starving tiger: Minister

  • Online news:

Prime Minister's Office Minister Sathit Wongnongtoey on Tuesday dismissed exiled premier Thaksin Shinawatra's comparison of the government is a ‘starving tiger’ as can be seen by its economic stimulus measures.

According to Mr Sathit, there are no overlapping benefits in the government policy, and the government and its followers are not keeping wealth for themselves. The government is also ready to answer all questions posed by the opposition during a no-confidence motion, he said.

Referring to Mr Thaksin’s announcement to return to the political arena, Mr Sathit said the deposed premier is actually involved in politics all the time, adding that he does not have to seek justice anywhere since justice is already in Thailand, as stated by Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva.

The minister also believed Mr Thaksin made a phone-in because he had to do something after knowing that the international community has confidence in the country following Mr Abhisit’s  visit to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
