Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) index closed at 434.67, down 6.95 or 1.57% in trade worth 6.60 billion baht on Friday.

SET 100 index closed at 639.77, down 11.10 or 1.71%.

SET 50 index closed at 300.62, down 5.41 or 1.77%.

Mai index remained unchanged at 166.96.

Stocks with most active value were as follows:

TTA decreased to 1.00 baht to 15.00 baht.

BANPU decreased 4.00 baht to 218.00 baht.

PTTEP decreased 2.00 baht to 91.00 baht.

PTT decreased 3.00 baht to 156.00 baht.

PTTAR decreased 0.30 baht to 9.90 baht.

    I'm not a soothsayer but I'd bet the farm that the SET is only, barely, hanging in there becuase businesses want to look as solid as possible for the ASEAN summits international exposure.

    Hold your money till after the summit is finished as the Thai markets are likely to nosedive with nil incentives to buy (year end dividends finished and a bleeker than bleek outlook).
