PM backs PAD's plan to form party

Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva says he would support the leaders of the People's Alliance for Democracy PAD)if they decide to form a new political party, as it would serve as an alternative for voters.

The prime minister said there would be no problem, but he wondered whether the idea arose from the PAD's disappointment with his own Democrat party.

PAD coordinator Suriyasai Katasila said on Thursday they were considering setting up a new party to serve the PAD's supporters, who questioned just how serious the existing parties are in implementing political reform.

Mr Abhisit said his idea of political reform means encouraging contributions from all parties, which may be different from the PAD's idea of reform.

I wonder how they will do that? Maybe taking over airport is the starting point for PAD. Since PAD done nothing wrong even they destroyed whole nation economy, and they poor people is paying the price.

I think the PAD have done a lot of damage to the country, both internally and internationally. They have also done a lot of damage to the democratic process.

If the PAD now form a political party I am in favor of that though. People will be able to show their feelings and thoughts about the PAD at the ballot box.

They will however have to play by the rules of democracy, and something tells me this will not happen.

Either way, by forming a political party the PAD can either rise above, or sink beneath its self deceptive image. That should be read as "become legitimate and democratic" or "expose itself for what it is and die".

Give it a chance...

I think its a great idea, PAD belongs in prison or politics anyway.

Indeed a Good Idea, very soon will be known again, just like in the 90's that people do not trust Chamlong and friends at all. After all they were decimated before. Now the next step would be to encourage republicans to form a party too. It gives more choices and fully democratic. Maybe just maybe people want to have another leadership in this country. Again it is up to the voters and not up to the establishment to determine what is good for the country.
