The Metropolitan Police Bureau asked United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) protesters to stop blockading Government House on Monday, or police would take control of the situation.

The police made an announcement through a loud speaker system, asking for cooperation from the red-shirt protesters and that they leave the area around Government House.

If not, authorities woud use gentle to severe measures to disperse them.

The announcement said unarmed police would first use their shields to drive the demonstrators out, and they would take legal action against all protesters and rally organisers if they break the law.

Political problems must be solved by political means, not violence, the police announcement said.

The anti-government group became disgruntled at the warning, and about 100 to 300 protesters gathered at each gate of Government House.

Two companies of police were later stationed near the Education Ministry's Office of Vocational Education, which is on the same block as Govt House.

A group of protesters then occupied the opposite area to prevent them getting to the rally.

The UDD then announced that civil servants were not to enter Government House, but journalists were free to report news around the venue.

Choose between one man or one's country. Then you will see who is dividing the country. The country can not divide against itself. Only one man can divide the country. Don't follow that man (whoever against the country is not of the country)

it is written: "Political problems must be solved by political means, not violence, the police announcement said."

The same thing was told the PAD.

The PAD refused to give one.

    The PAD toppled the government.

The red shirts have not forgotten this.

If the police and military do intervene and violence breaks out, the red shirts will have shown clearly who is behind the PAD and current government and who opposes them.

If the police and military intend to show the world real neutrality they will have no choice but to remain as passive on the sidelines as they were with the PAD.

    Dear all,
Please do remember that Thailand is a law abiding country and the country is under democracy. Please do respect the essence of democracy. Democracy is for the country benefits and for all the respect of the civilians. It is not for single individual person.
