Chaisit to file suit against Suthep

The chairman of Siam Gas and Petrochemicals (SGP), former supreme commander Gen Chaisit Shinawatra, says he will sue Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban for accusing him of allowing SGP liquefied-gas tankers to be placed in urban areas of Din Daeng during the anti-government riots on April 13.

Gen Chaisit, who is former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra's older cousin, denied the accusation.

He said he would take legal action over the claims by Mr Suthep and other officials that he gave a green light for red-shirt protesters to drive LPG tankers to the Din Daeng intersection.

The claims discredited him and were defamatory. Although he was the chairman of SPG he could not give such an order, he said.

He said the government could not find the guilty party and so tried to link him with Thaksin.

Gen Chaisit said he had not contacted Thaksin in a long time.

On the mid-year military reshuffle, which received royal endorsement on Monday, the former supreme commander said there could be irregularities in the transfers. Almost all pre-cadet class 10 officials who were Thaksin's allies had been transferred to inactive posts.

Gen Chaisit said he did not meet Thaksin when he travelled abroad with his family, and insisted he had no plans to join the underground movement against the government.

    Dear lek, #3,
Like your friend Boris, #2, suggest you get off the Kool Aid and read what the article says. It specifically states that he is the FORMER Supreme Commander, which a non Kool Aid drinker would likely surmise that since he is oler than Thaksin, he is likely RETIRED from the military. Make sense? Ask at the next PAD party and you may find this is actually the case.

    Boris, #2,
Seems to mr the article articulated that he is the older COUSIN of Thaksin. Not unlike most other PAD supporters, you drink the Kool Aid and interpret it to your own fantasies. Cousin, not BROTHER. Stay tuned to ASTV, he might become his father.

How can someone be a full time employee of the army find time to be the Chairman of a big coporation? You have to admire the hard work ethic of these Shins.

From Chaisit the former supreme commander said "there could be irregularities in the transfers. Almost all pre-cadet class 10 officials who were Thaksin's allies had been transferred to inactive posts."

Well what a joke. During Taxsins administration (read dicatorship) Chaisit and Thaksin had no hesitation to put their buddies / class mates / relatives, etc in high positions.

But now they want to claim "there could be irregularities, .... moved to inactive posts."

Just another example of taksin and his ilk having no solid values about anything, they change like the wind as it suits their purposes.

It's a bit like taksin now claiming he's the champion of democracy. During his term as Pm he said "democracy is not important for Thailand", and he actively and openy destroyed the checks and balances and intimidated the judiciary and the beaurocrats.
