The Kasikorn Research Centre on Sunday predicted that the value of Thai baht next week (May 25 - 29) should be around 34.10 to 34.50 baht per US dollar.
According to the forecast, the influential factors would be the Bank of Thailand's signal to maintain the baht's value, the direction of the Thai stock market, and the movements of Asian currencies.
The think tank said the value of US dollar next week would be determined by the stability of foreign financial institutions, GM's plan to restructure itself within the US government-imposed June 1 deadline, and the important economic reports such as the S&P/Case-Shiller Home Price Index and the Purchasing Managers' Index.
However, state offices and financial institutions in the US would be closed on the Memorial Day on Monday.
