US actor David Carradine, the star of television series Kung Fu and the Kill Bill movies, was found dead Thursday, the US embassy here confirmed as police said they suspected suicide.

"We can confirm that Mr. Carradine passed away in Bangkok today," a US embassy official told AFP.

"He was found in his hotel room in Bangkok but the cause of death has not yet been established," the official said.

A police official said he suspected Carradine had committed suicide, after the actor's body was discovered in his hotel room.

"We suspect that he committed suicide by hanging himself," local police officer Pirom Janthapirom told AFP, adding that security cameras showed no one else going in or out of Carradine's room.

"We found his body hanging in the wardrobe of his hotel room at around 11:30 am (0430 GMT) with a rope around his neck," said Pirom.

"We are investigating from where he got the rope because it does not seem it was from the hotel."

Pirom said that all of the actor's personal belongings "were intact."

"There is no trace of fighting in the hotel room and the room was locked from inside," he said, adding "there is no sign of bruising on his body."

Carradine played Kwai Chang Caine in the TV series Kung Fu and played titular villain Bill in Quentin Tarantino's "Kill Bill" movies.

He was the son of prominent actor John Carradine and part of an acting family that includes brothers Keith Carradine and Robert Carradine.

It is called autoerotic asphycsiation. Sad-to-say, many times it leads to accidental suicide. There are tons of cases of it here in the U.S.
He was a cool actor, and he will be missed.

He had a guest, they played per his requirements, he misjudged, she left. Let's not rake her up into this. She has a life to lead, he took his chances.

Most suicide case I know leaves some kind of note always. The man is too tall for the wardrobe to hang himself and another thing why should he travelled so many thousand miles to hang himself there in Bangkok. He could have done that at home!

When will you people realise no Farang ever gets murdered in this country? I think Switzerland should hand over the "assisted" suicide centre to Thailand as thats where most elderly men say goodbye cruel world even if they do get a bit on unasked for help.

Lets hope the Thai police are not covering this one up as usual. Where are the US crime investigators? The last thing Thailand wants is another scam being covered up. Watch out Thai police and govenment the whole world is watching you!!!!
