New parliament in progress

The cabinet on Tuesday approved a budget of 1,266 million baht for the secretariat of the House of Representatives to pay for relocation of a school and two communities to make way for construction of new parliament in Kiak Kai area.

Vachira Kannikar, a deputy government spokesman, said to be relocated are Yothin Burana School and Trakuldit and Textile Organisation communities.  A public consensus on the relocation was received in a public hearning, he said.

The spokesman said Yothin Burana School will be relocated to a 16-rai plot in Soi Wat Soi Thong with about 1,000 million baht while the relocation residents of two communities to a townhouse project in Soi Wat Kaifa will cost about 266 million baht.

    just how can this govt justify the expense... the bangkokpost should do some real investigative journalism on this and all the other "money down the drain projects', what about the longans??...... remember watergate!!!!

    Maybe we wouldn't have to borrow all that money from the Democrat's friends if we put some of this unnecessary spending on hold until the economy turns around.

    Will the old Parliament building be given for FREE to the Yellow occupants? They staid longer in service for the Country than the present Government!
