A queue of at least 50 people formed at Chiang Mai Zoo before it even opened on Wednesday morning to buy tickets to see the baby panda when it is presented to the public for the first time this weekend.
The zoo will allow only 2,000 people in to see the young cub over three days - from Saturday to Monday.
Visitors may also get to see the mother, Lin Hui, who has been in special care away from the public since giving birth on May 27.
Veterinarian Kannika Nimtrakul said the mother and cub are both healthy and the baby has grown a lot.
