Former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra did spend a night in Malaysia, his legal adviser Noppadon Pattama confirmed on Tuesday.

Mr Noppadon said Thaksin told him that his  plane  landed at Kuala Lumpur to refuel and he left for Fiji the following day.

The deposed prime minister planned to meet four world leaders after visiting Fiji, he said.

Mr Noppadon did not say when this took place.

On Monday, Deputy Interior Minister Thaworn Sennian said that Thaksin narrowly escaped arrest after the Malaysian government informed Thailand that the fugitive politician was staying at the Shangri-la Hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

Mr Thaworn said he understood Thaksin arrived in Malaysia on Saturday and left on Sunday.

"Somehow, Thaksin managed to get wind of the impending arrest and managed to escape," Mr  Thaworn said.

If the "going after" Thaksin was a genuine attempt to fight the endemic corruption in Thailand, I would be the first to clap my hands.

    But it is not.

If this really was about stopping corruption, the politicians behind the so called bus-lease-deal attempt would be taken to court for their attempt to steal billions.

These people are not on exotic islands, they are right in the middle of the Kingdom.

So why not go after them?

Well because the hunt for Thaksin never was about fighting corruption, but just one dirty side of Thai politicians trying to silence another dirty side.

Why does the media want to speak to this guy Noppadon? It is clear he is a bald face liar. First he says "Thaksin was never in Malaysia"... then he says "Thaksin was in Malaysia but only transiting"... and then "Thaksin only stayed one night"... Is it just me that is missing something and Thai's love the liars?

A serial escapee. And such a coward. Fully agreed with Wow that one has to be almost retarded to believe udd/ptp. that man lied through his teeth that he is poor. those who attended his weekly phone-in must be deaf and blind. WAKE UP! don't while away your precious time listening to a liar who is jetting around in his luxurious craft. He's not dying alone in the desert. He's got his private entourage. SO WAKE UP and STAY AT HOME.

Thaksin would say anything to keep the people on his leash. He has no shame exploiting these people, wasting their time, getting them to come out in the rain and hot sun for such important business as celebrating his birthday.

You know, you'd have to be almost retarded to believe UDD/PTP had anything to do with democracy and serving the people. Their corruption and antics are so transparent, they so arrogantly flaunt it, you want to scream when you hear people telling you otherwise.

This is truly a sign that many people in Thailand are still not ready for democracy. Education has been purposefully neglected in this country by BOTH sides to keep their incompetent hands on the wheel of this nation. Improve education, and the masses will probably burn the whole Parliament building down just to delouse it.

Thailand seems to love to embarrass itself every day more and more despite the the Thai thing of loosing face.
It has now been proven again and again that no other country in the world not only does not listen to Thailand but also does not respect any official requests from Thai authority's.
Does not that tell you something Thailand????????
If Thaksin has been convicted criminal on the run, there is such a thing as Interpol which is a police alike organisation for catching fugitives.
So Interpol does not want to deal with Thailand, neighbours do not want to deal with Thailand-so basically only Thailand wants to deal with Thailand-Keep embarrassing yourself, no need for others to assist

What are the type, model characteristics, and identification letters-numbers of the Thaksin’s private jet? Also, do you have any picture of his plane? It’s for helping to catch him, and to get the reward. Thanks…

So it appears Thaksin is travelling by private plane. I thought he was now poor, at least that's what he has told people in his phone-ins.
