Public Health Minister won't quit

Public Health Minister Witthaya Kaewparadai insisted on Friday afternoon that he will not quit cabinet for failing to curb the flu outbreak as demanded by opposition MPs.

Mr Witthaya said if he stepped down he would be a victim  of politics and it would be an admission of failure.

He admitted he was worried about the ministry’s image as the media had reported officials had concealed facts and information about measures to deal with the flu's spread and the treatment of flu patients.

The minister stressed that he implemented measures recommended by world health experts and academics, not by the government or him.

The UDD/PTP have illustrated their petty, childish, single minded dedication to assailing their opponents without cause and vindicating a convicted criminal and man who is floated only on a cushion of handouts and bribes, who is otherwise recognized as the absolute, progress impeding scum that he is - Thaksin.

Do they even care that there is a pandemic sweeping the nation, or did they only see an opportunity to waste time and call for more resignations?

The Democrats aren't getting much done, and they need to be held accountable for what little they are doing - and doing wrong. But the PTP has absolutely no credibility. Thailand needs a third independent party of men and women who are not shamelessly serving big business and money.

Who would be left, this if the PM and all his Ministers should take the responsibility of 7, seven months with only FAILURE? Why not let the person writing under "albion" replace all of them, this as the present situation could not be worse.
Congratulation, as one so named minister not know what the others are doing, so by far better with a dictator like the one named.

The opposition MPs are being childish and pathetic. A flu outbreak is a flu outbreak - the Minister is not responsible for it, nor is he responsible for its spread. Does the opposition think one of their incumbents could have done anything? What did their Fugitive leader do about the Bird Flu, except lie and deny it existed?

When will the politicians in this country grow up? The political parties behave worse than high school playground gangs.

And they wonder why the world doesn't take Thailand seriously. It's moronic!

Leave the man alone, what do you want a Public Health Minister or a monk? Besides, nobody's perfect.

Mr Witthaya reasoned if he stepped down, he would become a political prey and that it would be an admission of the failure.

Isn't what we have now in this country already a complete failure?
