Former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra was not behind the plan to hold the nationwide celebrations to mark his 60th birthday tomorrow as speculated by the Democrats, Puea Thai MP for Bangkok Anudith Nakornthap insisted on Saturday afternoon.

Mr Anudith also reaffirmed that the birthday parties for Thaksin were not initiated by the main opposition Puea Thai party.

“The celebration holding was initiated by the red-shirts who love the ex-premier. The red-shirts have constitutional right to hold any party. The celebration does not abuse other people’s right”, The Puea Thai MP said, adding that Thaksin has never learnt before that there would be a religious rites at Kaew Fah temple in Non Buri.

He was contacted by core leaders of the United front of Democracy against Dictatorship only for asking him to phone in to address his supporters in Bangkok and other provinces on Sunday because the red-shirts wanted to jointly celebrate the birthday party with him.

Puea Thai deputy spokesman Jirayu Huangsap called on the government to respect freedom of expression of the people. The premier should also warn his personal spokesperson Thepthai Senpong to stop making unconstructive comments as it would jeopardize the bid to create reconciliation of the government.

Thaksin is building a dangerous personality cult. Call it what it is. This is another Pol-Pot, Kim Jong Ill in the making. Do we need or want that? Just because a bunch of poor, stupid, unemployed, superstitious thugs have nothing better to do than vote, rally, voodoo, and go to birthday parties centered around A MERE MAN, the rest of the country has to be threatened, intimidated, and dragged down?

They are in temples praying for him! Having "black magic rites" for him! I've seen these people in utter rapture by Thaksin's mere presence on a jumbotron (that he'll have us believe was not ordered or paid for by him lol). This has nothing to do about Democracy. These are the seeds of fascism that if left ignored will fester into a monumental bloodbath. Songkran was just a taste as to what will come if we don't literally bury this man and his megalomania.

Government 101: Reconcillation of the Government?
We must learn to work together and trust each other for better government. Forty years ago, we supported Democrat Party together in "Hyde Park" at Sanam Leung and we demonstrated againt the police and military government together for getting rid of "corruption" and "transparency" in the government. Now, forty year later, you are in the Government, you had help write the Constitution and you are doing the same thing like the Government before. Where did you get your PhD degree in Public Administration and how did you pass the Police Academy? Let's get rid of the old Government Political Machine now and rebuild the new Political Machine so that we can come back to this discussion again 40 years from now. All parts in this Government Polical Machine is no longer working and cannot be overhauled!!!!!!!!

Interesting that Dubai continues to allow him to use the country as a base to subvert the peace in Thailand.

Maybe it is the Man City connection with Abu Dhabi?. Dubai and Abu Dhabi are fast becoming havens for criminals.

Quote from story: "....Puea Thai deputy spokesman Jirayu Huangsap called on the government to respect freedom of expression of the people. The premier should also warn his personal spokesperson Thepthai Senpong to stop making unconstructive comments as it would jeopardize the bid to create reconciliation of the government. ...."

    What a total laugh.

    - Puea thai deputy spokesperson call for the government to respect freedom of expression, lets analyze that a little:

    - - - Taxsin openly and deliberatly destroyed the freedom of the press and intimidated journalists, people were threatened not to speak openly about the bird flu, a foreign journalist asked a very valid question and taxsins response was 'idiot scum', and the journalist was deported the next day. National TV was told what to report and how to twist the details, and .....

    - - - The red shirts (especially the CM thugs) have stopped freedom of speech at various actiities including just recently trying to prevent ministe Khun Korn from going about his normal and important duties. And the CM 51 red shirts have become a local violent vigilanty group, with no respect whatever for freedom of speech.

    - - - In fact the Abhisit govt has a good track record of openness and they have ensured that NBT TV is not interferred with by governement and insisting that NBT report openly with no restrictions.

    - - - Now here comes the ultimate joke: Puea thai wants the govt to respect freedom of speech, then in the next breath they 'warn' the govt spokesman about talking.

Quote from Khris: ".....What reconcilation? and with whom? And for what?

'reconciliation' is a pure scam talked up by a cunning man who is a conviced criminal.

The only thing that will take Thailand forward is respect for the law, every law, by every person and those who break the law punished.

Thenj we start to move forward.

More shameless lies. So Thaksin was "begged" to phone in on various "spontaneous" celebrations "nation wide." What a joke. These red shirts are still dirt poor, dirt stupid, and look who's been running their provinces for the last 10+ years .... TRT/PPP/PTP.

Unless these people are cultists, Thaksin certainly is funding and directing this birthday celebration. To have a nationwide celebration for a mere politician serves only to undermine the reverence we have as a nation for our King who represents our heritage and Buddhism which represents our national religion.

It is a perversion to hold a "nationwide" celebration for a politician - a man who is also a FUGITIVE who openly consorted with foreigners to sell out his country!

Red shirts spoilt This year Songkran national festival at the behest of Thaksin their leader. We still remember the screeching phone in address of Thaksin. Its was also done with love towards Thaksin by red shirts nationwide. It should not be forgotten, that Thaksins Kith and KIn family was on stage for a brief period during Songkran festival disturbances.

    No one has forgotten.

At least Thaksins birtday please do it peacefully without telling unnecessary lies. If peace is disturbed, its all wrong.
Men and women in prison also has the right to marry and celebrate birthday. No one will object.
    These are all civic rights.
Spending our time in a national festival is the birth right of every Thais.
Red shirts are offenders to disturb the birth rights for their leaders wants and desires.

What reconcilation? and with whom? And for what?
