The labour union at the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) on Thursday filed complaints with crime suppression police demanding legal action against SRT board members and SRT governor Yutthan Thapcharoen.

The complaints, filed by union chairman Sawit Kaewwan, accused Mr Yutthana and SRT board members of negligence, malfeasance and violation of Article 157 of the Criminal Code.

Mr Sawit said the Office of the Auditor-General had found that SRT staff had become involved in the renting of SRT land at the Sunday market, costing the SRT 58 million baht in lost revenue.

The auditor-general  had reported the problem to the SRT governor on Jan 21 thisyear but Mr Yutthana and SRT board had failed to take any legal action against the former SRT governor Chitsanti Thanasophon, who was held  responsible for the questionable land rental agreement.
