Boonjong: No obstruction to UDD

Deputy Interior Minister Boonjong Wongtrairat insisted on he did not hire people to agitate the mass rally led by the red-shirt United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) to submit the royal pardon petition for former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra on Monday.

"The government is not trying to block the red-shirt supporters from different provinces from joining the mass rally in Bangkok," he said.

Mr Boonjong said he was not worried about Thaksin's expected phone-in address after the petition was submitted to the Office of His Majesty's Principal Private Secretary since the fugitive politician had already made phone calls to his supporters consistently.

He believed no clash between petition supporters and protesters would occur since people have different opinions.

The deputy interior minister said the police had been assigned to maintain order around the Supreme Court where the 90-million rubber sapling case involving banned politican Newin Chidchob would be ruled on the same day.

“More than 10 million people have signed their names to oppose the royal pardon petition for the fugitive politician,” Mr Boonjong claimed.

This indicated that more people understand the process of submitting a petition for a royal pardon, he said.

Provincial governors, district chief officers and village headmen continued to explain the process to the locals in their areas, he said.

I remember the PM's spokesperson telling BBC World News on the day that Abhisit was sworn in that elections would be called shortly. How much more proof does the PM want that elections are needed now??? Please put the ordinary Thai people before yourself and let all Thais vote.

One Thai. One vote. Vote 2009

Ordinary people can, in some cases, be sued for lying.

Politicians are elected and appointed to do exactly that, lying, and are hardly ever really held accountable for their misconduct.

Call elections now, if you dare! They will be rigged anyway. The minority always wins, until...

There is an end to every abuse.

It seem to be like the numbers are crossing more than the eligible voters in the counrty. Abisit is a hen pecked cock, He has no guts to call for a fresh election to exercise the democratic process. I personally believe that He's lost any election if he has sutep and kasit. Both are much more dangerous than any corrupt person in this country.

IF 10 million people have signed their names to oppose the royal pardon petition then that would mean the government had double the support of Thaksin. So why not call an election, well because almost all those 10 million must have appeared in an opium stupor. Go to the polls and test the waters if the government is so confident in their support. 555555

What will be the next made up number from the government. 5555555555
