PM offers blessing to Gen Prem

Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva on Tuesday afternoon led cabinet members, the Bangkok governor and some Democrat MPs to offer a blessing to Privy Council president Gen Prem Tinsulanonda at his Si Sao residence to mark his 89th birthday.

Gen Prem gave the prime minister his encouragment in performing his duty to resolve the country’s problems.

“The prime minister is still young,” Gen Prem reportedly said.

“I still have the physical and mental strength to work for the country,” Mr Abhisit replied.

Gen Prem's birthday is  tomorrow, Aug 26.
