One day former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra will realise that his actions have hurt both the country and himself, Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban said on Tuesday morning.

Mr Suthep was responding to Thaksin’s plan to host a radio programme via his website “thaksinlive.com/radio test” starting tonight.

Asked why he did not make contact with Thaksin for talks to improve the political situation, as contacting the ex-premier was not difficult, Mr Suthep said he had tried to get intouch with Thaksin when the government first took office.

“But Thaksin refused to talk to me. I still think about talking with him,'' the deputy premier said.

''If he wants to, I am ready for talks as it is necessary to find ways to bring about national reconciliation,” Mr Suthep said.

Swedenfarang - He mot only promised them something he delivered on that promise. In the north and northeast you often live and die on the way you complete something you said you would do.

Why must everyone talk and think in the same way in Thailand. It is an asset for the country to discuss what is wrong. Thailand is not only for the 5 million-rich in the country. But more for the 60 million poor and ordinary people. You must know that those who own a lot, would never give away or share with someone. It is the present government's task to even ordinary people may be part of the country's wealth. You have to understand people who are pinning their hopes on Thaksin. He has promised them something. More than anyone else.
