The Public Health Ministry on Wednesday reported there were 11 more influenza A(H1N1) deaths last week, bringing the total number of fatalities in Thailand to 130.
Of the 11 new victims, six were women and five were men.
Health deputy permanent secretary Paijit Warachit said the ministry believes more than 3 million people have contracted the virus in Thailand. The figure includes those who have recovered after receiving treatment, those being treated and people who recovered by themselves.
He said that remote areas in 15 provinces in the North and Northeast have shown a rise in new infections, particularly in Chiang Mai, Lampang, Sukothai, Roi Et and Nakhon Pathom.
Dr Paijit urged people to stay dry and healthy during the rainy season.
