The government will not interfere in the MCOT's investigation into Chom Phetoradab's interview with fugitive former premier Thaksin Shinawatra on FM 100.5, PM's Office Minister Sathit Wongnongtoey said on Monday.

Mr Sathit said it was an internal affair within MCOT and the government would not intervene.

He also said that it was a good thing that Mr Chom announced he would take responsibility for inviting Thaksin onto his radio show.

However, the government should have the means to prevent such things from happening again, because the interview with Thaksin could have a bad  impact on the country.

Thaksin usually speaks negatively about the Privy Council and about the justice system, he said.

Asked if the government would speak with Thaksin, Mr Sathit said the matter lies with Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban.

Thaksin has said on a number of ocassions that his  telephone number is widely known and he acepts calls from everyone.

Thank for saying it is a state media which means to serve public and allow public to use it. Thaksin is also a part of the public. He was a huge taxpayer, i guess.

Someone who assimilates criticizing their bad system and institution to damaging the country's image is a person with narrow mind and interpret the concept in his/her benefits.

Funny, this was reported in another English paper. "PM's Office Minister Satit Wongnongtaey Monday demanded MCOT Plc to ensure that fugitive former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra could not use the state media".

Maybe it was a different Satit Wongnongtaey but it sounds just like government intervention to me.
