There are only two solution to the current political crisis -- a miracle or a military coup, former supreme commander Gen Chaisit Shinawatra said on Monday.

His statement came as supporters of fugitive former premier Thaksin Shinawatra planned to hold a mass rally on Sept 19, the third anniversary of the coup that toppled him from government.

Gen Chaisit said he was not proposing that soldiers should stage a coup to oust the Abhisit Vejjajiva government. He was just offering an opinion.

He then insisted that he would  not support a coup, adding that he had neither the poweer nor forces at his command to stage a coup against anyone.

Gen Chaisit predicted this weekend's red-shirt rally would be peaceful, if the protesters were not provoked.

Asked ifhe thought a third party would try using the rally to stir up unrest, he said he did not know.

Gen Chaisit said he met Thaksin in Dubai recently, but Thaksin did not say anything about the coup anniversary.

    Bubba discussion 6 Say.

When that happened, then yellow shirts PAD started to bring about turmoil. They, backed and spurred on by a military that refused to help the legally elected government, brought down two governments within months. I will desist from mentioning the other troubles caused by the PAD as everyone well knows. You do know this, right?

    'Wal' write
So it all goes back to personal feud between Yellow shirt leader and Thaksin. A grand ma story. Right. Finally red shirts, blue shirts, red shirts. A country like Thailand and we all should suffer.

Why a country should suffer out of this personal feud which has expolded, in the name of democracy sake, finally.
Ask Thaksin to come back. He does not come back. And create all the protests in the name of democracy is wrong. Its not democracy, its hypocracy.

Dont say that every one is corrupt. Every one is corrupt. Corruption is not a barometer to judge a politician.

What is this alpine golf club. Its not corruption and something worst. Its like eating food meant for somebody.

It stinks to hear that a property willed by a lady for social cause in Pathumthani, held as a owner or bought by Thaksin family. These are all are big scams.

I also liked Thaksin, but the pandora boxes get opened. Still some more like this.

Its an irony that we have such leaders, crazy with lust and not even leave the dead alone.
There sould has spiritual democracy for the dead. Even there, its a blotch.

    Is it leadership.

I am neither a democrat or a PTP or red shirt or yellow. I vote for the candidate not looking at the party or his policy. Candidates should have some culture, personality and education.
An alpine case like is enough to impeach a president is US. And other democratic countries.
What democracy Thaksin can bring he himself like this. Its owned by his wife when he was her husband and he was in power. How he can buy such a land, willed by an old lady for social cause like temple.

Whats the use of all the merits done in the temple recently.
For a man to succeed, a low man or a rich man, three things are required.

    (1) Will of God - Budha ( Good Karma)
    (2) Support of people or his family Etc
    (Good deeds to possible extent
    (3) Strength of money.
(Its not so important at all)

Its in order. The will of God is very important. And support of people also. The strength of money is least when the above two are not there.

Wal # 4: When you write is ludicrous: "Political crisis is created by Mr. Thaksin and his party PTP and redshirts after the coup."

For over a year there was little trouble from the red shirts. The so-called democratic elections were set up by the military and its government. The PAD and democrats lost, despite trying everything they could to rig the outcome, including placing military people at the voting booths in Isan and the north.

When that happened, then yellow shirts PAD started to bring about turmoil. They, backed and spurred on by a military that refused to help the legally elected government, brought down two governments within months. I will desist from mentioning the other troubles caused by the PAD as everyone well knows. You do know this, right?

Only after the people had two governments brought down and then seen the current government buy votes from turncoats by awarding the high governmental posts did the red shirts become active. The military this time did not stay true to their words "it is up to the people to decide their fate" but instead came down hard on the red shirts.

Without even trying to apportion responsibility for any violence that followed, it is clearly evident that it not the red shirts that are the cause of today's political and economical turmoil.

Unless, that is you are one of those that believe the population should just bow their heads every time their elected politicians are overthrown and sidelined.

At least the, if you are if this ilk admit it and state clearly your preference for a government other than a democratically elected one.

An please no more talk abut buying votes. There is probably not a single politician in this country who has not in one way or another bought votes. That of course does not mean accept it but it does mean singling out one man or one political party is a total absurdity in a country where vote buying is national de rigeur.

The three words of the retired general of Mr. Thaksin family.

    Political crisis
    Military crisis
    Miracle

Mr. Chaisit says that he is not proposing military coup also. But its sujestive and Mr. Chaist is giving a statement openly.
Mr. Chaist cannot deny this sujestive statements or ideas or views.

Political crisis is created by Mr. Thaksin and his party PTP and redshirts after the coup.
Mr. Chaist is part of this political machinery and he should control it to be a peacefull demonstration, it should not turn out to be a repeated Songkran incidence.

Lives of of even ordinary people are important irrespective of who will be in ruling. Because, its not 1930,s or some Banana republics where mercenaries fight.

Mr. Chaist, we are not interested in what discussion you had with Mr. Thaksin. You are Mr. Thaksin's relative. Please keep it personal. Mr. Thaksin has some paid spokes persons. They will release his versions again and again.

In fact we are all fed up, the way in which redshirts are behaving (Lopburi) and in a different way when yellow shirts were also protesting.

If you feel some responsibality on redshirts, please make its peacefull.

Aragon # 2: You laugh but, although I agree another coup is more likely to create even more problems (read #1) there actually are some coups that have led to better government.

Look at the coup in Portugal that brought down a long time fascist dictatorship.

Then look at the fascist Franco coup that destroyed a democracy for decades. I am sure you agree a bad coup.

Later, after Franco died and democracy came back, a silly man from the Guardia Civil and some cohorts tried to carry out a coup. A ridiculous coup.

So there you have three: good; bad and; ridiculous.

But of course, almost always the military is conservative or extreme right and tends toward anti-democratic ideas. Often the worst are those labeling themselves as guarantors of freedom and so forth, like Pinochet...the backstabber who was able to convince the democratically elected government of Chile he was the one man they could count on. That gave him a free hand to slash and burn and murder.

But there are a few exceptions...

Coup to oust his brother was bad but coup to bring his brother back is good. Hahaha , so the red shirt is going to protest the coup but asking for another coup. It is good that Gen Chaisit could not command a coup anymore just chai and sit.

Of course this is absolutely true. I have said this dozens of times in comments. Only something totally unexpected (the miracle) or another military coup can change the situation.

But if Gen Chaisit Shinawatra did really say this would be a solution he is probably wrong.

The idea the military would carry out another coup to establish real democracy in itself would be a miracle...

Another military coup would just risk grinding what little movement of democratic evolution that remains to a complete halt.

And if the forces within the military that actually do want back democracy act the reactionary side would not sit back. The latter are far more ruthless and determined, and have more to lose.
