Dusit Nonthanakorn, chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (TCC), said on Tuesday afternoon that he supports the government’s decision to invoke the Internal Security Act in Bangkok’s Dusit district from Sept 18 to 22.

“It is good that the government is well-prepared to deal with the mass anti-government by red shirts on Saturday. The security law will help the government to prevent possible violence and can immediately take action to control the situation, if needed,” Mr Dusit said.

The TCC chairman said the general public should not worry about the use of the security law as many  countries used similar laws to maintain internal peace and order.

He called on all parties to refrain from creating conditions that could lead to severe social conflict for the sake the country.

    Who are the "Red Shirts"

    Affinity Clothing colors say nothing.

Is that the intent? Not to say anything about what this majority political movement represents?

    I think it is.

Better to stick to non-descriptive clothing colors than to have anyone think there may be a struggle for electoral democracy happening in Thailand, heaven forbid.
