Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva will chair a meeting of the Internal Security Operations Command at parliament Thursday afternoon to discuss measures to be taken under the Internal Security Act which has been imposed in Bangkok's Dusit district between Sept 18-22, said acting government spokesman Panithan Wattanayakorn.
The United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship plans to stage a rally on Saturday to mark the third anniversary of the Sept 19 coup that toppled the Thaksin Shinawatra government.
The ISOC meeting will be held at parliament, staring 4.30pm.
"The measures to be taken will include designating of roads to be opened to traffic and those to be closed to traffic. A curfew may not be necessary because it could cause inconvenience to the demonstrators and officials on duty," Mr Panithan said.
The meeting will also set up a peace-keeping command and appoint a person to take charge of it, he added.
