Fugitive former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra posted a new twitter message, saying "Thailand is heading for more problems."

According to the ousted premier, foreign politicians phoned him and said Thailand's neighbouring politicians who they met at different meetings told them that they expected the country to face more problems.

"After listening to them, I would like all sides to urgently work out the problems together through reconciliation before foreigners may decide not to visit or invest in our country," said the message.

On Saturday night, Thaksin gave a phone-in address to his red-shirt supporters in Udon Thani province, saying he would like to forgive people who had done wrong to him.

    To Disc@12 for your 2)point...
The Shin Corp sale case to Singapore Temasek has to be viewed globally, by including all the steps, explaining why did the share value increased astronomically?

    - This is a list of five cases that allege the former Prime Minister Thaksin used his position to benefit his own businesses, causing loss to state assets.

1- Case on the order to convert mobile phone operator concessions to an excise tax, leading to a loss of the Telephone organization of Thailand of 30, 667 million baht.
2- Case regarding reducing revenue share paid to TST from prepaid mobile services from 25 to 20% leading to a state loss of 70, 872 million baht.
3- Case relating to AIS and its reduction of payments by treating networks separately for payment purposes to TOT. Loss of 18,970 million baht during the term of the concession. This gain enabled rise in Shin Corp before its sale.
4- Various breaks given by the Board of Investment for IPSTAR satellite projects within Thailand.
5- Case regarding Treasury officials in tax negotiations regarding the sale of Shin Corp.

It seems that Thaksin was the master insider player for his family benefits!
The Doctor Thaksin was indeed a Prime Minister without ethics!

What a joke of the week, Thaksin will forgive all people who has done wrong to him. Ha ha ha. As usual all others are wrong only the 1000% perfect Mr. Thaksin, he has nothing to forgive,he never does anything wrong. Mr. innocent why he dont come back to Thailand and face all other graft cases waiting for him.
Mr. Thaksin is the one who has cheatet in many different cases, only sorry that so many people thinks that he is above the law in Thailand.

Unsubstantiated allegations that are patently misleading innuendo is intellectual dishonesty.

What else can I say and still remain professional.

I’m not a Thaksin fan, but I am a fan of the truth, so let’s get a couple of facts straight.

    1) The only thing “dubious” about the land deal for which he was convicted was the court totally ignoring previous legal precedent and actually CHANGING the law in order to get a conviction. The courts are NOT allowed to change the law to suit themselves in order to get a conviction. Only parliament can change laws. But they did it anyway.

    2) He didn’t “avoid” paying taxes on the Shin Corp deal because it was sold through the Thailand Stock Exchange, where it IS NOT REQUIRED to pay taxes on a sale of property or assets.

You want to knock Dr. T? Hey, go for it. Just make sure you have your facts straight first, and aren’t repeating “gossip” and “rumors” that you think are true. Do a little research.

Thaksin sais he would like to forgive people who had done wrong to him!

Why he never asks the People to forgive HIM for his wrongdoings. He was the one who cheated Thais. He is convicted on a dubious landdeal. He is a tax evader, he made scandalous deals with Burmas brutal military leadership for his own benefit, etc.

To everyone who believes he is the savior of Thailands poor: He belongs to the same elite as the ones who govern the country now. There's no difference. If the day really comes when he is in power again, perish the thought, he will again feed the People with a handful of rice and water, while he eats the meat and drinks french wine.

Boonisback you keep forgetting that Mr. T is part of the elite, especially his wife, you keep forgetting the sideline deals that he made while in power, the only thing that he did to make make himself so popular is that he had a massive PR machine that knew how to sell Thaksin the product. If you dig deep enough into most of his populist policies you will see that his or his relatives benefited hugely from the gov. contracts. I have no doubt that he will be back the old guards are reforming an the day will come when the great leader will return and save us all.

Ohhhh.... the Messiah has spoken! Tell us more Dear Leader.

The cult of personality that this guy has is scary. I'm so glad I don't need to think of some rich guy who lies a lot as my salvation.

And boonisback, when you make a money deal that allows you to not pay the tax, that's someone who "controlled the system for their own gain".

If you sincerely look at the problems within the democrats and with its coalition partners, it is not difficult for you to conclude that Thaksin is not the problem. He could be the solution of 'aged-old' problems that Thailand is facing. Unfortunately he was get rid of through 2006 coup. He is a threat to the elites, military and those who controlled the system for their own gain.
