Thaksin: More problems expected

Fugitive former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra posted a new twitter message, saying "Thailand is heading for more problems."

According to the ousted premier, foreign politicians phoned him and said Thailand's neighbouring politicians who they met at different meetings told them that they expected the country to face more problems.

"After listening to them, I would like all sides to urgently work out the problems together through reconciliation before foreigners may decide not to visit or invest in our country," said the message.

On Saturday night, Thaksin gave a phone-in address to his red-shirt supporters in Udon Thani province, saying he would like to forgive people who had done wrong to him.

I hope Khun Thaksin will stay clear and will not deliver provoking statements anymore in his future address to his supporters for the next 6 months or so.

If I were him, I will reduce making addresses to my supporters with statements that the coalition Government could use to blame me for the continued disunity amongst the Thais. Just keep the phone-in address and/or on the twitter website, short and simple to check how my supporters are doing.

Then, leave everything to the Abhisit Administration to deal with......and everyone will then be able to witness the emerging of the "further cracks" in the coalition Government and the collapse of the entire Government in the coming months.

With that, at the end of the day, Khun Thaksin will not be blamed for the collapse of the Thai economy and Government.

"On Saturday night he gave a phone-in address to his Red Shirt supporters in Udon Thani province"

Let me clarify this: "Saturday he gave a phone-in to the pro-democracy rally in Udon Thani, attended by close to 80,000 people"

  • anyone can predict problems

It doesnt take genius to predict Thailand has problems now or in the future. Why does Bangkok Post keep post these rantings?

Taksin just wants his money and Face back.

Gee wiz Mr. T I could predict the same thing especially if I'm the one causing all this conflict, and undermining the present gov. from afar. I can see how you will save us once you are back in power, the first thing will be a big witch hunt of all those people that criticize you, they will either face huge defamation lawsuits or they will disappear . Than you will again appoint all those old cronies back in positions of power and you won't make the same mistakes like last time you are too crafty for that. You will have learned and you will have adopted and you will be more unforgiving than ever.

Not many details are shared with readers in this "report". Is the sparse news due to cub reporting or Thaksin secrecy?

The headline, "More problems expected", could be written by anyone who has followed the Bangkok Post for more than a day.
