SET index rises 14.06 points

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) composite index went up 14.06 points or 1.92% to close at 745.45 points at the end of trading session on Wednesday morning. The trade value was 18.85 billion baht.

The SET50 index ended at 532.20 points, up 9.49 points or 1.82%, with a total trade value of 12.84 billion baht. The SET100 index rose 20.13 points or 1.79% to stand at 1,146.62 points, with a total turnover of 15.79 billion baht. The MAI index went up 1.45 points or 0.72% to close at 203.62 points, with total transaction value of 185.64 million baht.

Top five most active values were as follows;

TMB       closed at      1.33 baht, up 0.01 baht (0.76%)
BAY        closed at    21.00 baht, up 0.90 baht (4.48%)
BANPU    closed at  448.00 baht, up 10.00 baht (2.28%)
KTB        closed at   10.10  baht, up 0.40 baht (4.12%)
PTTEP    closed at   146.50 baht, up 1.50 baht (1.03%)

    Why? Is there any information as to what the SET went up so much? How did the baht strengthen against the dollar? Is it because of all of Thailand's political stability?
