The Puea Thai Party on Sunday called for Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva to replace Sohpon Zarum as transport minister for failing to solve problems at the State Railway of Thailand.

Puea Thai spokesman Prompong Nopparit said the train derailment at Hua Hin district in Prachuap Khiri Khan province caused severe damage to the SRT and the ongoing work stoppage by rail workers causing suspension of train services were indications of Mr Sohpon's inability to perform his duty as transport minister.

Mr Prompong said the Democrat-led government did not have the courage to solve internal problems of the
SRT.

As prime minister, Mr Abhisit should show the leadership and sincerity in solving the problems by replacing Mr Sohpon.

"I want to raise for observation that the prime minister may not dare to do anythign with the SRT labour union, which holds a strong tie with the People's Alliance for Democracy," Mr Prompong said.

I still have faith in this PM. I agree that he has shown incompetiencies, but our family still trusts him. We know how he was brought up,and we know his values. He is not corrupt, and we believe he has not strayed from his ideal. He is sincere in tackling the problems.

Ofcourse after becomming a PM he has had to deal and comprimise with so many parties. He may have been slow and showed little leadership, but I think it is because he as not resorted to the "dark ways", eg. building allies with money, sharing money, builing connections and bonds by breaking the law with others, allowing his cronies to corrupt, using force and threatening means etc...

Your question: YES we still trust him.
I admit, He seems weak at times.
But is a strong 'Dictator-Type' better for our country ?
[someone who lets kill a number of our people in a so-called War Of Drugs ? for example

Vincent... The list of people who are able to lead our country is very limited.

Let's face it, most politions are corrupt.
the police are, the army is, the press is.
How do we find a Prime Minister as they have in Europe mostly. (Ms. Merkel in Germany for instance)

    Vincent, YOU TELL ME !!!

We are in the same boat as the people in South-
    America or Africa are.

A good education for 2-3 generation,
then it's worth it to participate in elections. Now its not even that _______________

I have to agree with Vincent - The PM needs replacement. His incompetence is slightly less than Obama's whom he is desperately trying to copy. Very bad for Thailand - he does not have the resources that Obama has and Obama is running out of his too!

Although I agree that Minister sophon should be replaced, the reason given by PT party spokeman to not one of that. SRT problem is long in making and, to this govt credit, there are attempt to solve problem by separating SRT to investment & rail running operations, but it just go no where.

Although I have remained neutral and independent on all my comments, I wish to categorically state here again that Khun Abhisit has been demonstrating his poor and bad leadership skill, and thus, does not fit to remain in office as the PM of Thailand.

He has been giving nonsensible excuses to remain in office. His excuses were that he would stepped down when he failed in his responsibilities and failed to secure the confidence of his fellow MPs and cabinet ministers. He has also said that he would stepped down if majority of the Thai people do not want him to lead the country.

But so far, despite his various failures including his leadership and the failure in tackling the economy downturn of Thailand and majority of the Thai people remained sufferring under the current Government administration, he still remained in office as the PM.

Thus, his words cannot be trusted. Ask the people of Thailand....do they still respect and trust such person as the CEO of the country???
