The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) composite index on Wednesday lost 9.25 points or 1.27 per cent to close at 716.35 points. The market value was 20.58 billion baht, with 3.74 billion shares traded.

The SET100 index ended the session at 1,100.03 points, down 16.00 points or 1.43 per cent, with a total trade value of 17.03 billion baht.

The SET50 index fell 7.42 points or 1.43 per cent to stay at 509.71 points, with a total transaction value of 14.18 billion baht.

The Market for Alternative Investment (mai) index, however, gained 1.16 points or 0.55 per cent to stand at 210.41 points, with a total turnover of 1.11 billion baht.

Top five most active values were as follows;

PTTEP closed at 156.50 baht, down by 3.00 baht or 1.88 per cent.

PTT closed at 256.00 baht, down by 5.00 baht or 1.92 per cent.

BBL closed at 116.50 baht, down by 4.00 baht or 3.32 per cent.

TTA closed at 28.00 baht, down by 1.00 baht or 3.45 per cent.

BANPU closed at 450.00 baht, down by 2.00 baht or 0.44 per cent.
