The State Railway of Thailand on Friday filed a lawsuit with the Central Labour Court against five more members of the railway labour union and will sue another later, all in connection with the rail strike, SRT governor Yutthana Thapcharoen said.
The five named in today's lawsuit are Sawit Kaewwan, chairman of the rail union, and union members Thara Sawaengthem, Liam Mopngam, Supichet Suwanchatri and Aroon Rakchart.
The other union member to be sued later is Sunantha Sawangkaew, said Mr Yutthana.
Earlier on Wednesday, the SRT filed a lawsuit with the Central Labour Court against two rail union members - Pinyo Ruenpet and Banjong Boonnet.
Mr Yutthana said the court has been asked to terminate the employment contracts of these union members and order them to pay 70 million baht compensation for damages.
The SRT governor expected the court examination of witnesses to take three to four months.
The management was in the process of examining evidence before sacking more train staff in addition to six rail workers fired on Wednesday, he said.
Mr Yutthana said all scheduled trains were now back in service.
