Gen Chavalit Yongchaiyuth, chairman of the opposition Puea Thai Party, said fugitive former prime minister would not permanently reside in Cambodia as he did not want to create any problem to Thailand.

“I had asked him (Thaksin) why he did not stay in the neighbouring country as it is near to his hometown and family, but he said no”, Gen Chavalit on Saturday.

“Staying in Cambodia could lead to many problems to Thailand”, Thaksin was quoted as saying by Gen Chavalit.

The opposition camp chairman disclosed that he will visit Malaysia in mid-November and after that he will make a visit to Burma.

He said he has known Gen Than Shwe for quite a long time and thus he can help improve relations between Thailand and Burma.

Regarding a criticism that he was trying to discredit the government and to help Thaksin, Gen Chavalit said if someone wants to do a big thing, he must be able to stand for such a negative criticism.

The ex-premier insisted that all he had done and plans to do are for the benefit of the country.

Allow Thaksin back in to join the government. No more fighting except who can make Siam prosper...look around and see who is trying to be an economic competitor or victor.

Former British PM John Major was the son of circus entertainers and left school at 16.

The comment I submitted last week was too close to the truth.
I think both of the people concerned are blow hards and are looking to gain political points.
We must wait and see if the referee who blows the whistle is consistent with his decision ????????
We must wait and see ???????
I read with interest yesterday that the whistle blower was going to stay in a cell or a V I P room at the police hospital????????????

    Corruption, corruption, corruption

It is not true democracy when the majority vote and subsequent power can be bought so easily.

#4 You make it sound like Abhisit is a poor little rice farmer. I don't know how much money it takes in your eyes to be rich, but Anhisit is rich also. I do not know of any PM or Presidents who came from the ricefield to the PM office without getting rich on the way. Having money does not disqualify a person.

    Elections, elections, elections

Everything else is just so much hot air.

The current Government does not have electoral legitimacy, and until it does, all its' paranoia and pursuit of Mr. Thaksin is just self-serving.

This includes its' mandate and order to the Domestic Media to preface all references to Mr. Thaksin with the descriptor 'fugitive'(in the very first line of this article). They are trying very hard to avoid the impression of politically governed judiciary through such terminology.

The Democracy Movement just wont let them.

Strange how such good intentions can - to ordinary folk - look so much like selfish, 'Thaksinish'intentions.

Why don't old soldiers just fade away?

Cambodian people are watching the situation in Thailand and the relation between two countries.
The current Thai government that got the power from a coup which has not done anything good for poor Thai and Cambodian people at the border.these are diferent from Thaksin's time that people in both side are good for exchage their goods and made their living better.everyone will die why are you (person behind Abhisit )forcing them to die the time limited.we knew if the will be helped Thaksin will win becuse majority of Thai people are suporting him.
